Clinics and Services
Antenatal clinic
Midwife Lorna Pettifer runs the clinic on Monday from 9:15am until lunchtime at Jockey Lane Clinic. To make an appointment phone 01580 713032.
To contact the midwife at other times or to arrange parenting and childbirth classes phone 01580 755559.
The midwife can also help with pre-conceptual advice
Anticoagulation service
Our nurse Claudia Thurlwell provides in-house anti-coagulation blood testing.
Asthma clinic
Run by our specialist asthma nurse.
Baby clinic
Baby checks at six weeks are carried out by one of our GP’s.
Please see the health visitor for a general baby check on the Tuesday before your appointment and have your baby book brought up to date.
Breast screening
Arranged directly by the ICB who screen women aged between 50 and 64 on a 3 yearly basis.
Cervical smears
A chaperone can be made available if required.
Child health surveillance
The health visitor holds a drop in clinic every Tuesday from 9am to 11am at Cranbrook Clinic, Jockey Lane and on the first and third Tuesday of every month from 1pm to 3pm at Hawkhurst Community Clinic, Baptist Church Hall, Cranbrook Road.
Childhood immunisations
Several severe infectious illnesses can be prevented by immunisation and we recommend that immunisation schedules are followed to keep immunity up to date.
Chiropody
For those patients entitled to free NHS chiropody.
Contraception
By appointment with a doctor or nurse.
Coronary heart disease clinic
Regular clinics help monitor the health of patients with coronary heart disease. You may be referred to this clinic by your doctor.
Counselling
Can be recommended by one of our practice team.
Cryotherapy
Many minor skin problems can be quickly treated by this freezing technique.
Diabetes clinic
Regular reviews and advice from our Practice Nurse in close liaison with the doctors.
Flu vaccination
Offered to all people aged 65 years and over and other at risk patients.
Minor surgery
Including the removal of small skin swellings or cysts can performed at the surgery under local anaesthetic by two of the partners.
Phlebotomy (blood tests)
Carried out by visiting phlebotomy staff from the hospital laboratories and our in house Healthcare Assistants.
Postnatal clinic
Checks are done at the same visit as your baby’s six to eight-week check.
Travel clinic
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
